Research and development for innovation

Research and development are at the heart of our strategy and are the very essence of El.En. Group. The natural predisposition to anticipate technological evolution in the medical and industrial sectors and in the restoration of the world’s artistic heritage originates from a stimulating environment, in a territorial and historical context that has made science and artistic beauty a natural breeding ground for talent.

The Group’s positioning on high-tech products and the global competitive environment in which it operates imply a continuous and significant commitment to the research and development of new products and technologies. El.En. Group and the people who work for it boast a knowledge of physical, biomedical and technological phenomena gained in almost forty years of experience, which leads to a marked ability to innovate in its know-how, production technologies, processes, products, and related services.

El.En. Group is currently among the few in the world that develop, manufacture, and market products based on a very wide spectrum of sources and technologies, including: solid-state laser, semiconductor laser, active fibre laser, dye laser, CO2 laser, in addition to frequency conversion systems, including OPO and Raman, capable of providing solutions from infrared to ultraviolet with different levels of power and emission duration, to fulfil a wide range of applications. In addition to laser technology, El.En. is active in other technologies, always in the field of electromagnetic energy forms, including, in particular, radiofrequency, microwaves, and high-intensity electromagnetic fields.

Restoration

Laser technology for the conservation of works of art removes layers of substances and particles that have accumulated over time. This procedure is non-invasive, selective, and controllable, allowing the patina of time to be preserved with the utmost respect. The laser solution provides restorers with a technologically advanced tool that lets them work in total safety, offering significant advantages over traditional mechanical or chemical methods. The minimal invasiveness, due to the absence of physical contact with the work surface, makes it possible to work even on extremely fragile or highly deteriorated surfaces.

Precise control of the laser action makes it possible to set the desired level of cleaning in a highly precise manner. Furthermore, it is possible to demarcate a specific area of intervention without affecting the surrounding area in any way. Laser technology is also particularly advantageous in reducing the use of chemicals, thus avoiding the need to dispose of these substances through special and expensive procedures.
